The portrait of a lady smoking a cigarette by Oskar Zwintscher is the starting point of the new book Symphonie in Schwarz by Andreas Dehmer and Susanna Partsch. Who is this self-confident woman who presents herself so differently from her contemporaries? The question leads to an exciting search for traces of the modern woman in art around 1900.
The book presentation will now take place at Museum Wiesbaden. There will be a talk with Dr. Peter Forster, Dr. Susanna Partsch and Dr. Andreas Dehmer.
Furthermore, the painting can be viewed in the current exhibition.
Admission to the book presentation is free.
