Festival de l’Histoire de l’Art 2025 | Book fair

As one of the first cultural events of the summer in France, the festival takes place every year on the first weekend in June in Fontainebleau. Conferences, panel discussions, film screenings, exhibitions, a book and art magazine fair, meetings for students and professionals, guided tours, children’s workshops and concerts—over 200 program items offer a multifaceted panorama of the visual arts from all periods.

For three days, experts, students and art enthusiasts will come together in the special atmosphere of Fontainebleau Castle to discuss current developments and research in art history.

This year’s guest country is Austria, and the theme is “Le vrai, les faux” (the true, the false).

Deutscher Kunstverlag will be represented with a stand at the book fair—with current publications, exciting new books and a wide range of perspectives on art.
